Our Review Methodology

Every review on this site follows the same process:

Account creation on every tier: We create accounts at the free tier and at least two paid tiers (including the highest available plan) on every reviewed platform. This ensures we're reviewing what users actually experience at different price points, not just the marketing materials.

Minimum 2–4 week testing period: Short-term impressions are insufficient. Memory systems, character consistency, and feature reliability reveal themselves over extended use. We don't publish reviews based on hours of testing.

Standardized evaluation criteria: Chat quality, image generation, voice features, pricing and value, safety and privacy, and user experience are assessed against consistent criteria across all platforms, enabling meaningful comparisons.

Direct pricing verification: All pricing data is confirmed directly on official platform websites before publication. We note verification dates in reviews because prices change.

Honest pros and cons: Every review includes genuine weaknesses — not "areas for improvement" softening, but actual cons with specific examples. Safety concerns, data retention issues, quality limitations, and pricing problems are documented and published.

Editorial Independence

Our affiliate relationships don't determine our editorial conclusions. The review scores, recommendations, and findings on this site are based on testing outcomes, not commercial relationships.
